Soil symposium

Soil experts are set to convene in Nairobi this month to showcase innovative products and services aimed at helping Kenyan farmers counter soil related challenges. The soil innovations symposium to be hosted by Agri-ProFocus Kenya, is slated for 22nd August 2013 at the Silver Springs Hotel in Nairobi.

“The event will provide a platform for enterprises to showcase how their innovative products and services are solving soil related challenges in Kenya’s agriculture,” says Amos Thiong’o of Agri-ProFocus Kenya in a press statement.

Organizations with innovative soil and soil water related products and services like water retention enhancers, innovative fertilizers, soil treatments, soil conditioners among others, are expected to attend the event. “We are not targeting the conventional well known products in the market.  There will be a soils expert to enumerate some of the current challenges to soil productivity that farmers in the country are facing, followed by an open plenary soils’ expert discussion.

Companies that have confirmed participation include; Koppert Biologicals Systems, Soil Cares/BLGG,Crop Nut, Amiran, Sun Culture, Ecofuels Kenya, Wanda Organix, Rutuba Organic, KOFA ltd, Ocean Agriculture, Organix Agro, Green Resources Exploration and Real IPM.
