This initiative aims to address food security challenges and promote sustainable agricultural development across Africa.
Pitch AgriHack, known for its support of visionary entrepreneurs, will award a total of US$45,000 in prize money to the most promising ventures in three categories: early-stage agritech ventures, mature or growth-stage agritech ventures, and women-led agritech ventures. With each winner receiving a cash prize of US$10,000 and each runner-up receiving US$5,000, the competition seeks to incentivize and promote outstanding agritech initiatives.
Open to African founders or co-founders between the ages of 18 and 40, the competition invites businesses providing agritech solutions and digital services in the agriculture sector to participate. The application process entails a thorough evaluation of the submissions by expert reviewers, who will assess the innovativeness, feasibility, and potential impact of the solutions.
The climax of Pitch AgriHack 2023 will take place at the African Food Systems Forum (AFSF) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their agritech solutions to a distinguished panel of judges. This live finale event, scheduled for September, promises to showcase cutting-edge innovations and generate excitement for the agricultural sector’s future.
Winners of Pitch AgriHack 2023 will not only receive monetary rewards but will also gain access to the AGRF Agribusiness Deal Room. This exclusive platform will connect entrepreneurs with over 800 companies, 15 government delegations, and 150 public and private investors, offering unprecedented opportunities for securing investments, forming partnerships, and receiving mentorship.
