Illicit pesticides remain one of the most pressing challenges that farmers face across Africa and the Middle East. In some markets, they account for a significant share of what is available, harming farmers’ health, their crops and the environment.
On 22 September, CropLife Africa Middle East hosts a virtual session at the Science Summit 2026, setting out a science and partnership-based response to the illicit trade of pesticides.
The programme will cover farmer and law enforcement capacity enhancement, product detection, traceability and coordinated enforcement programmes spanning Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Egypt and beyond, and will bring together regulators, customs officials, industry, academia and farmer organisations. The session will be held in English and French.
