Kenya is set to benefit from a fresh push to strengthen business networks, leadership, innovation and community engagement as the United Asian Network Limited (UAN) prepares to host two major events in Nairobi and Mombasa over the coming weeks.
The events — UAN Mombasa Connect and Leadership Summit 3.0 — are expected to bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, policymakers, young people and community representatives to create new connections and explore opportunities that can contribute to Kenya’s economic and social development.
According to Dr Bimal Kantaria, Managing Director of Elgon Kenya Ltd, the growing success of UAN demonstrates the importance of teamwork and a shared commitment to a common vision.
In a post highlighting the upcoming events,The Charman of UAN, Dr Kantaria said organisations that survive and thrive are those that embrace teamwork, noting that UAN’s volunteer leaders have continued to contribute their time, effort and resources towards building the organisation.
“They jointly invest their time, effort and resources and act as one team with no ego or ulterior intention. That is why UAN is so successful,” Dr Kantaria said.
He thanked the UAN team in both Nairobi and Mombasa for embracing the spirit of unity and taking collective ownership of the two upcoming events.

Mombasa Connect to bring community together
The first event, UAN Mombasa Connect, will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at English Point Marina, Mombasa, from 7:30pm onwards, including dinner.
The gathering is designed to strengthen connections within the Asian community in Mombasa while creating a platform for wider engagement with professionals, entrepreneurs, youth, organisations and community leaders.
The organisers say the event will focus on building stronger connections, identifying opportunities and challenges unique to the Coast, encouraging participation in UAN programmes, fostering mentorship and business collaboration, and ensuring that local voices contribute to UAN’s national agenda.
The Coast has long been an important commercial gateway for Kenya, connecting the country to regional and international markets. Bringing business and community leaders together in Mombasa could therefore create opportunities for new partnerships, investment discussions and collaborations linked to the region’s commercial potential.
The event also provides a platform for young people and professionals to interact with established business leaders, potentially opening avenues for mentorship, entrepreneurship and skills development.

Leadership Summit 3.0 targets the future
The second and larger event is Leadership Summit 3.0, scheduled for September 19, 2026, at the Jaffery Islamic Centre.
Running from 7:00am to 5:00pm, the summit will be held under the theme “Building Tomorrow: Community, Commerce & Artificial Intelligence.”
The summit is expected to bring together more than 500 leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and changemakers, creating a platform for networking, leadership conversations, business engagement and discussions around emerging technologies.
Among the featured leaders are Rajan Nazran, Founder of Global Indian Network & NazranRoth, who will serve as Chief Guest; H.E. Ambassador Philip Thigo, a technology and public policy strategist and keynote speaker; and former Ambassador Prof. Bitange Ndemo, former Kenyan Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union and a professor of entrepreneurship.
The summit will also feature a business expo showcasing products, services and innovations from established and emerging enterprises.

Why the events matter to Kenya
Beyond bringing members of a community together, the two events could contribute to Kenya’s broader economic agenda by creating spaces SS
The Leadership Summit’s focus on artificial intelligence is particularly timely as businesses and governments worldwide increasingly explore how emerging technologies can improve productivity, service delivery and competitiveness.
For Kenyan businesses, such discussions can help expose entrepreneurs and SMEs to new ideas, technologies and potential partnerships while encouraging greater adoption of digital solutions.
The business expo will similarly provide participating enterprises with an opportunity to showcase their products and services, meet potential clients and partners, and explore new commercial opportunities.
The events could also strengthen links between Kenya’s Asian business community and the wider economy by encouraging collaboration across sectors and communities.
With entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, policymakers and community leaders expected to interact, the platforms can help facilitate conversations around investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, mentorship, market opportunities and inclusive economic growth.
For the Coast, Mombasa Connect could further highlight the region’s role as a commercial and investment hub, while the Nairobi summit is positioned to broaden discussions around leadership, technology and the future of business.

From networking to opportunities
UAN’s approach, as highlighted by Dr Kantaria, is centred on collective effort rather than individual interests.
That philosophy is reflected in the structure of the two events, which combine networking with leadership discussions, business showcases, mentorship and community engagement.
The Mombasa event is expected to strengthen grassroots and regional connections, while Leadership Summit 3.0 will provide a larger national platform for conversations around business, technology, policy and community leadership.
For Kenya, the value of such platforms lies in their ability to turn relationships into practical partnerships — connecting businesses to opportunities, young professionals to mentors, entrepreneurs to networks and communities to decision-makers.
As UAN continues to expand its activities, the two events are expected to demonstrate how organised networks and collaborative leadership can contribute to stronger communities and a more connected business environment.
For Dr Kantaria and the wider UAN team, the message is clear: when leaders work together and take collective ownership, networks can become powerful platforms for creating opportunities and driving positive impact.
