Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has officially inaugurated the Packed at Source Africa EPZ Limited facility at Tilisi Logistics Park in Limuru, Kiambu County. This marks a major milestone for the company, a subsidiary of the Dutch Flower Group, as it prepares to export fresh-cut flower bouquets predominantly to the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and South Africa.
The event was graced by Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, Rebecca Miano. She was joined by PS Abubakar Hassan Abubakar from the State Department for Investment Promotion, Mr. Richard Cheruiyot, Chairman of the EPZA Board, and Mr. Hussein Adan Mohamed, Acting Chief Executive Officer of EPZA.
With a focus on enhancing Kenya’s economy, particularly the agricultural sector, this initiative aligns with the country’s ambitious Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda. The establishment of the Packed at Source EPZ facility is poised to contribute significantly to the nation’s economic growth.
Operating from Naivasha, the company is set to source its flowers locally, creating a positive ripple effect by directly and indirectly improving the livelihoods of hundreds of individuals. This venture not only symbolizes a strategic leap forward in Kenya’s trade landscape but also underlines the nation’s commitment to fostering economic development through innovative initiatives.
