Sustainable Value Chain Approach to Horti-Cultural Quality Assurance

Fresh produce growers and horticultural companies have a chance to cement their understanding of industry dynamics including the magic of giving back to society while remaining profitable in a one-day conference.

The conference, dubbed Private Sector Conference on Sustainable Inclusive Business, is organized by Sustainable Inclusive Business Kenya the Knowledge Center, takes place on April 27, 2016 at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa conference hall.

Participants will be taken through where and how they can improve and take sustainable farming in horticulture to the next level with insights coming from industry players among them the Kenya Flower council, Kenya Plant health inspectorate Service, Horticultural Crops Directorate, Pest Control Products Board and selected flower farms.

Key thematic area of the day under the horticulture value chain conference will be “A Sustainability Value Chain Approach to Horti-Cultural quality assurance.”

The conference is an attempt by SIB Kenya the Knowledge Center to get businesses to tie their profit pursuits with improving the social and environmental situations of the areas they work in, a holistic approach christened Sustainably Inclusive Businesses. Studies show that companies which embrace the people, planet and profit model are more competitive, profitable and stronger than those that don’t.
