Netherlands August 28, 2013. Sjaak Bakker takes up the role of commercial director at Flier Systems in Barendrecht as from September 5, 2013. Flier Systems are manufacturers and suppliers of machines and systems for greenhouse farming. Sjaak has held the position of managing director for the last years at Javo in Noordwijkerhout.
The commercial director position at Flier Systems is a new one, specifically created to address the needs of certain customers in the last few years, and Sjaak will closely work with Ard Flier, the managing director, says Sjaak, services he will be keen to expand on. “I will mainly engage myself with expanding the systems and solutions for greenhouse farming currently being offered by Flier Systems”. “However, those may be of interest to a lot more businesses”, Sjaak adds.
Among other things, Sjaak bears the ultimate responsibility for sales, modulate customer-specific solutions developed by Flier Systems and ensure efficiency in production is as smooth as possible. That means these developments can be used for a wider audience. In order to achieve this, Sjaak will manage the Flier Systems MT in order to focus its internal processes on this as well. “By appointing Sjaak, our current Sales Manager, Ad Kranendonk, will take up the position of New Business Manager. His years of experience are guaranteed to bring innovative solutions”, says Ard Flier.
Sjaak has over 20years experience in greenhouse farming sector, which has given him great experience in finding efficient production methods in addition to focussing on the customer and offering technical solutions. During his eight year stint with Javo, his work entailed supplier of potting machines among other things.
He was the commercial director for Alco Agro in Maasdjik which later changed its name to Logiqs Agro before he got engaged with Javo.
Flier Systems specialises in the design, development and installation of machines and systems for the operational processes at breeding stations, plant nurseries and production companies in the vegetable-growing and ornamental plant cultivation industries.
