Self Help Africa recently opened the second call for applications for the AgriFI Kenya Challenge Fund to small and medium-sized agri-enterprises with a business model that integrates smallholder farmers/pastoralists into value chains.
The Fund will allocate potential SME’s grants of between 200,000 Euros and 750,000 Euros to cover up to 50% of their business proposals. The other 50% will be covered by matching funds.
Applicants also have the opportunity to access a credit facility from the European Investment Bank through Equity Bank Kenya to cover the 50% required for matchfunding.
In line with this, we are holding several information sessions across the country to meet potential agri-enterprises and speak more on the opportunity. The remaining information sessions will be held in Machakos, Nyeri, Kitale, Meru, Eldoret and the Nakuru. Two webinars will be held on 16th and 23rd July 2019.
The Fund is a European Union initiative co-funded by SlovakAid to support productive and market-integrated smallholder agriculture, through the provision of financial support worth EUR 18,000,000 to agri-enterprises.
