Recruitment workshop for young Agripreneurs

February 4,2019,Nairobi.The United States International University-Africa’s Global Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship Centre and its partner; Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, have been mandated to carry out a research project titled; “The Effectiveness of the Metro Agri-Food Living Lab for Gender Inclusive Youth Entrepreneurship Development in Kenya” by Cultivate Africa’s Future Fund (CultiAF) which is a joint program of the Australian International Food Security Centre of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada.

This is a unique research project that uses the Living Lab model to guide current and aspiring youth entrepreneurs in developing profitable agri-business enterprises in the agri-business sector. The living lab brings together a unique set of activities and services that create the needed synergy to support not only learning, but also innovation, business development and the creation of new knowledge.

We are currently recruiting young people who have an agribusiness (more than 6 months old) that they want to scale up. We are looking for 1200 young people aged between 18 to 35 from the following counties; Nairobi, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Kericho, Baringo, Kisumu, Kakamega and Bungoma. The entrepreneurs will be invited to attend a one-day recruitment workshop to present their agribusiness concept which may be selected for further assistance from the Living Lab which include; business plan development, marketing research, and access to implementation resources. 

The date and time of the recruitment workshop will be communicated after applications are received. Please note that applicants should submit their application by 15th February 2019.The application form is available HERE.
