The Naivasha HortiFair has opened to a strong turnout, bringing together a large and diverse group of horticultural exhibitors, growers, farmers, suppliers, technology providers, investors and visitors from across Kenya and beyond.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe officially opened the expo before touring the exhibition stands, where he interacted with exhibitors and viewed technologies, equipment and solutions serving different segments of the horticultural value chain.
The opening day saw a vibrant exhibition floor, with exhibitors showcasing solutions covering floriculture, fruit production, vegetable production, nursery and ornamental plants, irrigation, farm machinery, crop protection, inputs, greenhouse technology, post-harvest handling and other horticultural services. The breadth of exhibitors reflects the growing sophistication of Kenya’s horticulture industry, where production is increasingly supported by specialised technologies, services and innovations targeting both small-scale and commercial growers.
Visitors from different parts of the country turned up to explore products, meet suppliers, compare technologies and engage with companies operating across the horticultural value chain. For exhibitors, the strong turnout has provided an important platform to demonstrate their products directly to growers and horticultural businesses, while creating opportunities for new commercial relationships and partnerships.
Kagwe’s tour of the stands also gave him an opportunity to see first-hand the range of technologies and services being presented to the horticulture sector. From flower growers and exporters to vegetable and fruit producers, input suppliers, machinery companies, irrigation specialists and technology providers, the exhibition has brought together players from across the industry under one roof.
