Kenya is set to host the 6th Edition of Avocado Africa 2026, one of the continent’s premier international conferences and exhibitions dedicated to the avocado, fruits, and vegetables industry. The highly anticipated event will take place from May 26th to 29th, 2026 at the Sarit Expo Centre, bringing together key players from across the global fresh produce value chain.
The four-day summit is expected to attract farmers, exporters, investors, policymakers, development partners, researchers, agribusiness leaders, and international buyers from Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. The conference aims to strengthen trade partnerships, encourage innovation, and position Africa as a competitive supplier in the global horticulture market.
Organized under the leadership of the Avocado Society of Kenya, the event will feature high-level conferences, technical workshops, panel discussions, exhibitions, and business-to-business networking sessions. Discussions will focus on key industry issues including sustainable production, value addition, financing, export opportunities, compliance standards, and access to international markets.
Speaking ahead of the event, Muthomi Ernest highlighted the importance of the platform in advancing Africa’s agricultural trade agenda.
“Avocado Africa 2026 is more than an exhibition. It is a gateway for trade, innovation, and investment across the avocado value chain. Africa has a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as a global supplier of high-quality fresh produce,” he said.
Kenya continues to cement its reputation as one of Africa’s leading avocado exporters, driven by favorable climatic conditions, increasing investments in agribusiness, and growing demand in international markets. The country’s horticulture sector remains a major contributor to the economy, creating employment opportunities and generating foreign exchange earnings.
Industry stakeholders view Avocado Africa 2026 as a timely platform that will not only showcase Kenya’s strengths in horticulture but also facilitate knowledge exchange and partnerships aimed at transforming the sector across the continent.
Organizers have called upon stakeholders across the entire value chain to participate in the landmark event and take advantage of the networking, investment, and market opportunities expected during the summit.
