The fifth edition of the International Flower Trade Show (IFTEX) that was held a fortnight ago in Nairobi Kenya, concluded as one of the best editions in its five years.
More than 200 exhibiting companies, over 3,500 trade visitors from over 50 countries on a total floor space of 10,000 square meters reaffirmed the great importance of the annual international flower trade exhibition.
Exhibitors were more than satisfied with the results and immediately secured stand spaces for next year, many asking for additional space and others requesting a chance in position.
Show organizer Dick Van Raamsdonk, President HPP was happy with the event, which he said registered more buyers and growers than previous shows. He exuded confidence IFTEX was still the flower show to watch in coming years. “Going forward I expect more buyers to come to Nairobi since IFTEX is a buyers’ show and Kenya the leading grower of flowers,” he said adding that the growing number of buyers since the show kicked off in 2012 is a clear indication of a growing event.
IFTEX 2017 dates are set for June 7-9, Oshwal Center, Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya.
Several prices were awarded to exhibiting companies for the Best Stand Decoration Competition. Bronze was awarded to Red Lands Roses; Silver to Black Tulip, Gold to Subati and Platinum to Omang, all-in the category Perishables. In the category Non-perishables, Bronze went to Greenlife, Silver to the Dutch based company Broekhof, Gold to Amiran and Platinum to Agrichem Africa.
