Farmers Presidential Handshake

Leading agriculture inputs and services supplier Elgon Kenya Limited has been recognized by the Kenyan Government for its support to the agricultural industry.

President William Ruto awarded the company directors Dr Bimal Kantaria and Baiju Kantaria for Elgon Kenya initiatives at the 2023 Nairobi International Trade Fair 2023, at Jamhuri Park. Elgon is the main sponsor of the National Farmers Awards and the 4-K Clubs.

The top winners of the awards receive their trophies at the fair. The Ministry of Agriculture has singled out Elgon Kenya Limited for high impact programmes such as the farmers awards, the Kantaria Agriculture Technology and Innovation Centre at the University of Nairobi College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and the Elgon Kenya Agriculture Graduate Internship Programme.

The programmes seek to draw attention to agribusiness development for food security, environmental sustainability, job creation and economic development.
