On 16th October, millions of people across the globe will celebrate World Food Day. This year’s theme is “Healthy Diets for a ZeroHunger World” and various stakeholders will reaffirm their commitment to SDG 2 which aims to end hunger. The celebrations will focus on the importance of nutritious food in addressing health issues.

In Kenya, according to the World Food Programme access to adequate quantities of nutritious food remains a challenge for many especially in semi-arid regions with approximately 29% of children in rural areas and 20% of those living in cities stunted hence the need to ensure that affordable and nutritious food is available to all.
